Teaching@Melbourne
Effective university teaching requires more than expert discipline knowledge and good communication skills. It requires insight into how students learn, and the central role of assessment and feedback. It involves curriculum design focused on the learning activities students engage in, rather than simply on content delivery. And it is contextual in terms of particular student populations and institutional environments.
Teaching@Melbourne is an integrated series of seminars and workshops that provides insight into the complexity of university teaching, and practical strategies for enhancing teaching effectiveness.
Open to all University of Melbourne staff, the series has two components. One involves three half-day sessions covering a range of core topics. The second component is a series of special topic seminars offered across Semester 1.
