The University has many units and services to which you can refer students, including those below. There are of course extensive library services to which students should be directed. Centre for Communication Skills and English as a Second Language

This Centre supports the University's international and non-English speaking background (NESB) students. The Centre offers free lunchtime ESL support classes to improve students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, and free individual tutorials on language-related problems, especially with regard to written assignments.
Learning Skills Unit

The Learning Skills Unit offers study skills support for all students, on issues such as time management, examination preparation, note-taking, written and oral communication skills. The Unit conducts workshops, offers a range of self-help materials, and arranges individual appointments.
Counselling Service

The Counselling Service offers help for students and staff with personal and university-related concerns, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, depression, anxieties, or is available just for advice.
Student Liaison Officer

The Student Liaison Officer provides advice and information for both students and staff on University regulations and procedures with respect to academic issues.
Health Service

The Health Service is a bulk-billing medical clinic with staff skilled and experienced in areas of major concern to students and staff.
Disability Liaison Unit

This Unit provides information and support for students with a disability or long-term medical condition. It assists students who require note-takers or readers, materials in an alternate format, assistance in gaining access to library materials, specialised equipment, attendant care on campus and other University-related needs resulting from a disability.
Chaplaincy

The chaplaincy provides counselling, support and information for all denominations. A chaplain for international students is available.
Student Support Services

This unit assists students with housing, employment and financial aid. It offers advice and information on a range of matters including housing options, tenancy, part-time and temporary employment, loans, Austudy, Abstudy and HECS.
Careers and Employer Liaison Unit

The Unit offers programs in career planning and job searching skills. It provides assistance in finding vacation work and conducts an extensive graduate recruitment program in collaboration with employers.
Children's Services

The Service provides assistance with arranging child care for student and staff parents in University and community centres.
Student Union Student Support Unit

The Student Union has its own support service for students, which offers assistance, advice and referral on matters affecting student welfare. It also has an advocacy role in relation to student's rights. There is a Women's Welfare Adviser and an International Student Adviser. The starting-point for inquiries is the Contact Office on the ground floor of the Union.
