Keynote session

The sixth Vice-Chancellor’s Colloquium on Teaching and Learning was held on Tuesday 5 December 2006 at the University of Melbourne Law School (Pelham Street).

The Colloquium is an important annual event for University of Melbourne colleagues to meet and celebrate excellence and best practice in learning and teaching.

The 2006 Vice-Chancellor’s Colloquium featured:

  • A traditional welcome from Professor Joy Murphy-Wandin, Wurundjeri Elder
  • The Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching and Learning keynote address by Professor Dai Hounsell, University of Edinburgh. Professor Hounsell is an international expert in learning and teaching in higher education
  • This year’s University of Melbourne Teaching Award and Carrick Award recipients who will each share their personal perspective on teaching and learning
  • Recognition of the University’s national award winners in the Carrick Awards for Australian University Teaching
  • Parallel sessions covering themes of common interest across the disciplines; supporting diversity, inter- and multi-disciplinary approaches to teaching and learning, quality assurance strategies, the new graduate attributes, and preparing students for knowledge transfer activities.

Colleagues met over lunch in the Old Quadrangle, central campus, Parkville.

The Vice Chancellor's Colloquium on Teaching and Learning is hosted by the Centre for the Study of Higher Education.
