Chi joined the CSHE in late 2007 after working as a Lecturer in Higher Education in the Faculty of Economics and Commerce at the University of Melbourne. She is currently coordinating a major project that involves developing programs and resources to enhance and support the training of sessional teaching staff in the New Generation degrees.

Chi brings to the CSHE extensive experience in developing targeted teaching and learning improvement programs for staff and students at the University. Her broad teaching experience includes teaching courses in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, the School of Graduate Studies, and the Teaching and Learning Unit in the Faculty of Economics and Commerce. She is currently teaching in the Graduate Certificate of University Teaching.

Chi’s main research interest lies broadly in the area of university assessment practices. She is also interested in the internationalisation of university curricula, and the educational experience of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. She is currently involved in an ALTC-funded project on enhancing domestic and international student engagement, and has recently completed a DEEWR-funded project on English language proficiency and employment outcomes.

Chi holds degrees in Commerce and Education, including an Honours degree in Teaching and a M.Ed from the University of Melbourne. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Education focusing on the assessment practices of university lecturers.
