LEADERSHIP FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE
A suite of programs for academic staff with responsibility for the leadership and management of teaching and learning.
Central to the quality of a university’s teaching and academic programs is the management and leadership of teaching and learning. Staff with oversight and coordination responsibility at the level of department, school or faculty play a particularly critical role. Heads of departments and other senior colleagues typically have overall responsibility for quality assurance of subjects and programs of study, for the management of staff and staffing, and for planning the academic direction of their departments. The Centre for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE) provides a program of information and activities for University of Melbourne staff in academic leadership roles.
Leading Teaching Seminars
A series of occasional seminars on current ‘hot topics’ in higher education. Open to all heads of academic units or nominees, and academic staff responsible for leading and managing teaching and learning. These seminars are hosted by CSHE staff and colleagues, and provide opportunities for debate and sharing of ideas.
