The CSHE is host to some of the University's major events such as, the Provost's Summit, the Melbourne Teaching Showcase and teaching and learning forums.

Provost's Summit

A joint initiative of the Office of the Provost and the CSHE, the Provost's Summit is an annual event focussed on a teaching and learning theme of contemporary importance to the University. This event is open to all University of Melbourne staff.

The 2013 event will be held on Friday, 19 July. Event details will be available soon.

The annual Provost's Summit is an opportunity to discuss key issues in teaching and learning that are of broad and current relevance to the University community.

Melbourne Teaching Showcase 2010 - The CSHE and the Chancellor's Office hosted an afternoon celebrating the University's Teaching awards and showcased examples of teaching.

Vice-Chancellor’s Colloquium

The Vice-Chancellor’s Colloquium is an annual event providing an important space at the end of a busy academic year for University of Melbourne colleagues to meet and celebrate best practice and excellence in learning and teaching. At the Colloquium, teaching award recipients provide personal perspectives on teaching and learning. A wide variety of faculties are represented on the day and parallel sessions cover themes of common interest across the subject disciplines. The annual Vice-Chancellor’s keynote session features local or international experts.

2010

Performance indicators and performance-based funding for teaching and learning in Australian higher education - The CSHE and the LH Martin Institute hosted a one-day seminar regarding the recently released DEEWR Performance Indicator discussion paper. This was a public event, involving participants from across Australia.

 

2008

Teaching-Research Nexus National Seminars – A series of repeat seminars, which were held in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne in June 2008, introducing resources to assist academics and policy-makers to enhance the connections between teaching and research. These national seminars were part of an project funded by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council.

 
2007

Teaching and Learning Forums 2007– A series of seminars and activities focused on excellence and distinctiveness in the University of Melbourne's undergraduate programs. This event was open to all University of Melbourne staff. Papers are available.
