College Tutors' Forum

REGISTRATIONS FOR 2012
The College Tutors' Forum is a two-part professional development program, specifically designed for tutors in the University of Melbourne's residential colleges.

College tutors play an important role in supporting student learning, typically working with small groups of students and over an extended period of the academic year. In many ways, the principles of effective university teaching apply equally to on-campus teaching and to college tutorials. The college tutorial, however, is a quite specific teaching context, and the Forum focuses on effective teaching practice in this particular environment.

The Forum is designed for both experienced and new college tutors. Both sessions are discussion based, providing an opportunity to debate issues and to share ideas and strategies. The sessions are informed by current research into higher education practice, and led by experienced academic staff from the Centre for the Study of Higher Education.
