Call for Expressions of Interest for ALTC Discipline Scholars

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) is seeking expressions of interest for the roles of ALTC Discipline Scholar in the following discipline areas:
- Creative & Performing Arts
- Health, Medicine & Veterinary Science
- Law
Applicants will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Demonstrated capacity for leadership at a senior level;
- A strong record of contribution to learning and teaching in their discipline;
- A national or international track record of strategic change management;
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects involving senior as well as early career members of their discipline; and
- Ability to articulate the current higher education policy context and its relationship to the work of the ALTC.
The appointment will commence in February 2010 for one year. The successful applicant will undertake this role as a secondment, with the individual primarily based at their home institution. The structure of the appointment is flexible. The ALTC will consider appointing two people to share the role. The Discipline Scholars will be required to be based at the ALTC office in Sydney for approximately three days each month to undertake a collaborative project.
