Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Program
Internal closing date for Round 1 applications is 25 Feb 2010. The internal closing date for Round 2 applications is 10 June 2010.
The Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Program is designed to build leadership capacity in ways that promote and enhance learning and teaching in Australian higher education.
There are three program priorities in 2010. Program funding varies from $80,000 to $220,000, depending on the priority chosen. Please note that applications that build directly on a previous ALTC project have a funding limit of $150,000. Project duration also depends on the selected priority.All applications must be received internally by the Melbourne Research Office for institutional endorsement and review of budget and compliance issues before submission to ALTC. The CSHE is able to assist University of Melbourne staff with grant applications. Applicants may discuss potential grant ideas, or submit draft proposals for feedback. For further information please contact Claire Jennings
Priority Projects Program
Internal closing date for Round 1 applications is 19 March 2010. Internal closing date for Round 2 is 18 June 2010.
The Priority Projects Program supports projects that investigate current areas of interest for the ALTC. There are three priority areas in 2010:
- Academic standards, assessment practices and reporting
- Curriculum renewal
- Teaching and learning spaces
Funding for projects in this program ranges from $80,000 to $220,000. Please note that applications that build directly on a previous ALTC project have a funding limit of $150,000. Projects may range from one to two years in duration.
All applications must be received internally by the Melbourne Research Office for institutional endorsement and review of budget and compliance issues before submission to ALTC. Please contact Hayley Shaw

Competitive Grants Program
Internal closing date for Round 1 applications is 12 October 2009. Internal closing date for Round 2 applications is 13 May 2010.
The Competitive Grants Program supports:
- Research and development focussing on issues of emerging and continuing importance
- Strategic approaches to learning and teaching that address the increasing diversity of the student body
- Innovation in learning and teaching, including in relation to the role of new technologies
Funding for projects in this program ranges from $80,000 to $220,000. Please note that projects that build directly on a previous ALTC project have a funding limit of $150,000. Projects can be for up to two years duration.
All applications must be received internally by the Melbourne Research Office for institutional endorsement, review of budget and compliance issues before submission to ALTC. Please contact Hayley Shaw
